Farewell, DTLA

Booty cheeks got slapped hard last night. Bruthas was "on one". The cooling trend outside kept things comfortable in the rooms and we were all grateful. Plenty of newbies came through to mix in with the regulars.
Yeah, somebody got plowed too deep and painted the top's dick. And, yeah, a couple of bruthas tried to fuck in the bathroom. And, yeah, somebody took a few cigarette puffs before we could catch them. Shit happens. But overall, err-body looked very satisfied at closing time.
Farewell, DTLA
Friday night was our last party in Downtown Los Angeles. The spot served us well for a whole year and we definitely loved it, but it's time to move back to the hotel penthouse in Torrance.
The reasons were already detailed in a previous post, so we won't rehash it. We do wanna express our sincere appreciation to all the bruthas for making Blackout the best it can be.
Jaxon Takes Over
Our doorman, Jaxon, will be taking over Blackout when it moves to Torrance. He's smart, very approachable, and is committed to making sure everything continues to run smoothly. He'll also be writing all the updates after each party.

Random Thoughts: Last Night
Lots to discuss.
First, we begin by thanking err-body for coming out over the long Labor Day weekend to support Blackout. You know we're grateful for making our two events such a breeze --- and we all need a breeze in this ridiculous heat.
Friday Night
In my opinion, the Friday party didn't jump off like normal and I blame Mother Nature. The heat outside made our spot stuffy and uncomfortable. The bruthas were soaked in sweat and couldn't settle into their usual "routine". I witnessed 42 guests suffer in an almost sauna-like atmosphere and felt totally helpless to do anything about it. It simply drained everyone's energy.
Damn you, heatwave!
Sunday Night
The Blackout crew was determined to make Sunday a lot more comfortable. We added a second air conditioner and it made a major difference. In addition, the weather cooled as the day progressed. It actually started drizzling in the evening, so props to Mother Nature for helping us the fuck out.
The attendance for Sunday was 51. Things got active early and stayed that way all night. Quite a few visitors from out of town came through, too. New dick and ass is always a plus, and the vibe was on point. It was going so good, we had to stay open an extra 2 hours to give err-body a chance to nutt. Hopefully, we made up for Friday night.
Farewell, Downtown LA. Hello, Torrance?
It was exactly one year ago that we moved into our downtown spot. We love it here, but our lease is up on September 30th and rather than renew it, we wanna go back to Torrance.
As most of you know, Blackout used to be in a Torrance hotel and was doing exceptionally well. Unfortunately, a few bruthas showed up at the wrong room one night and those guests called the front desk. Security let us slide, but we had to end early.
Rather than risk another incident, Blackout was postponed for 7 months until we found our own spot. Perhaps that was an overreaction, but we don't regret the decision. It was practical and safe.
Some of y'all be drunk or high when you arrive, so we'll have someone stationed outside to direct bruthas to the right room when we return to Torrance. Also, the penthouse we always book at this hotel has central air. 'Nuff said.
We know the decision to relocate isn't going to please everyone, initially, but we hope the experience we provide will make up for the extra miles.

Labor Day Weekend: Friday and Sunday
Yeah, it's true. Blackout Social will be open Friday and Sunday this Labor Day weekend. It's a butt-naked situation on both nights for bruthas only.
Fri, Sept 1: 11pm-4am, $15 before midnight, $20 after
Sun, Sept 3: 10pm-3am, $10 before midnight, $15 after
Random Thoughts: Last Night

Last night's Blackout was real smooth. The vibe was right, quite a few new faces rolled through, and the air conditioner did it's job keeping the body heat (somewhat) under control.
Blackout Text Messages Being Blocked
It's actually amazing that we had anyone show up at all on Friday because the majority of dudes on our contact list didn't get the text reminder. Usually, we text a message out to everyone the day before each party, but most major phone companies have started blocking messages sent to large groups.
Now you have to "opt in" for our message to come through or you won't receive the reminder. We're currently working on a fix for this, so stay tuned.
Labor Day Weekend
We're planning two parties for Labor Day Weekend --- Friday, September 1st, 11pm-4am and Sunday, September 3rd, 10pm-3am ($10 before midnight).
