Last Night: The Show Must Go On

Fame and Knockout were scheduled to host Blackout last night. Knockout missed his flight to LA, but Fame made it just in time to save us.

This is the weekend of Blatino Oasis in Palm Springs, so we had a lot sexy newbies visiting from out of town. The pitch black darkness was overwhelming for some, but they were able to adjust after a few strong drinks.

Our vibe was all about sex, less social, probably because most of our regulars were at Blatino. They usually help create a relaxed, conversational atmosphere. But as long as the rooms were active, nobody had any complaints.

Well, almost. Two bruthas said our tequila, Cuervo Gold, was the worst of its kind. They suggested Don Julio. We took notes.

It was very hard to stay focused with so much sweaty chocolate goodness walking around naked. In fact, one of Fame’s guests — a tall, caramel boy with a giant tattoo of the Gemini symbol on his back — was a major distraction for most of us. And he had ass for days.

Props to Fame for showing up and showing out. We always appreciate you. Hope Knockout is okay. And a major thanks to all our Blackout supporters who made last night such a success.

Last Night: That Candle

Last night, we had a candle lit at the entrance for those checking in. The vibe was kinda “meh”. Then we blew it out and everything kicked into high gear.

It was just another reminder that darkness is very crucial, so each new spot has to be as dark as possible, no matter how much effort it takes on our part.

A lot of fine-ass newbies rolled through. Some of them were annoyed by a regular bruh who was just too damn aggressive, so we had to pull him to the side for a chat. Once we got him to settle down, err-body was able to get active.

Extended Hours

As summer approaches, we’ll be staying open longer to accommodate the late-comers. In May, our hours are 11pm till 5am. From June through September, we’ll be open till 6am.

Feeling Lucky?

This is something we started last year and plan to restart. Each Blackout party will offer free admission for those who are assigned a specific bag number. The numbers for our party on Friday, May 3rd are 15, 30, and 45. Let’s see who gets a freebie.

The Dark Night Returns

That is so true. The last party in Baldwin Hills wasn’t as dark as we wanted it, but don’t worry. This Friday’s party in Downtown LA will be back to normal.

Last Night: Less Intense, More Social

Last night, we tried something a little different. Instead of our usual spots in Hollywood and DTLA, we hung out near Baldwin Hills, specifically View Park.

The house was spacious and had a very unique vibe. Bruthas chilled in the lounge area and got active in the two dark rooms in back. It’s interesting how each venue we use affects the vibe.

This particular location seemed to make the party less intense. It was more “social”. Big thanks to err-body for coming out.

Going Weekly?

We’ve been looking a different permanent locations around the LA area. If we have a regular spot, we can host Blackout every Friday, instead of just twice a month. Our host, Tre, could even do his Hump Day Party every Wednesday. Is this a good idea?
