Special Events This Weekend

We got a lot going on this 4th of July weekend.

It starts with the PROUD Kick-off Party on Wednesday at Rocco’s in West Hollywood from 9pm till 2am. No cover. Free food and drinks. Bottle service and live DJ spinning hip-hop, house and R&B.

Sip & Tip hosts its outdoor cocktail party on Friday evening from 8pm till midnight. Leimert Park. Hot boys serving drinks for tips. Click the flyer above for details.

Friday night belongs to BLACKOUT SOCIAL. We got a loft in Downtown LA that’s 420-friendly. Starts at midnight till 6am.

Then we mix it up on Saturday with an Outdoor Movie Night featuring “The Players Club”. Open bar, popcorn, sexy hosts, and 420-friendly. Social hour at 8pm. Movie starts at 9pm.

Last Night: "It Was Like a Porno"

We were in an office building near LAX. Started at midnight. Stayed open till six in the morning. There were dim red lights. The bathroom was down the hall. We even had a hot box so bruthas could smoke.

Nothing about last night was typical for “upscale” Blackout. It felt seedy and sneaky and, as someone said, “like a porno”. The air conditioner didn’t work, so it was hot and sweaty. For some reason, the majority of bruthas loved it. And so did we.

We won’t make it a regular spot, but it definitely was a unique experience. The small hot box room was packed with chocolate bodies, all on the floor and up against the wall. It smelled like weed and funk. That room turned completely dark around 2:30am. The door was closed and it got seriously active.

Yeah, it was too warm. Yeah, you had to walk down the hall to use the bathroom. Yeah, we had to use air mattresses. The vibe was right, though. One night only. And it worked.

Last Night: LA Pride Weekend

There were lots of activities in LA this weekend, mainly because of LA Pride. We were at our spot downtown last night and noticed more newbies than usual.

Most likely, they were in town for Pride and decided to check us out. The newbies were very cautious, almost too cautious. A couple of them walked in, but just couldn’t handle the darkness.

This made the overall vibe kind of unsettled until around 3am. That’s when bruthas finally realized they only had 2 hours left to get active. To be honest, every party has its own “personality” based on those who show up. This one was just, uh, different…lol

Gotta thank err-body for showing up and supporting us last night. The whole Blackout crew appreciates you.
