Blackout Social Responds to The LA Spot
The following excerpt regarding sex parties using false advertising was posted on The LA Spot website recently:
It can be seen as false advertisement when a party has sexy, ripped brothers on their promotional material, and when you attend the majority of the guys are out of shape! Now, it's really great that some Man-2-Man parties have all shapes and sizes welcomed. And in Los Angeles 'The LA Spot' celebrates other Man-2-Man parties in LA for they fill a void for other physical type of guys.
However, we feel it's important for all of us to be true and upfront about the type of guys that will be attending our party. This way guys are not looking for similar guys displayed on the flyer and see something totally different once they attend. This hurts us all....
That's about us, y'all. In fact, we peeped The LA Spot's site and found some very unflattering and false statements about Blackout posted by its owner, Sydney ( aka "Flex").
The LA Spot is an all-male sex party located in a 1-bedroom apartment. Their site says it's the "#1 and Longest Running Man-2-Man Play Spot for Sexy, Body Fit, Discreet & Masculine Men of Color Only!"
Indeed.
Whenever we get asked to implement a discretionary door policy based on body, we always resist. Blackout Social was created for ALL black men, regardless of body type. In fact, if someone's looking for a "body party", we refer them to The LA Spot. No harm, no foul.
Using images of physically fit men to advertise our events is not "false" advertising. Blackout pulls plenty of fit mofos, but no one expects every attendee to be ripped. More importantly, we believe sexiness comes in all shapes and sizes.
The LA Spot also says the use of fit male images on flyers "hurts us all". We can't speak for others, but our attendance is at its highest ever and growing.
C'mon, LA Spot, let's not be crabs in a barrel. Let's support and uplift each other, okay? Don't hate...lol
Sydney, we welcome your response. Feel free to comment below, err-body.
