Invasion of the New Yorkers

Any time we detect a New Yorker at Blackout (and it's always obvious), we pull them to the side and ask how LA parties compare to the East Coast. We usually hear the same thing: New Yorkers are very strict at the door, it's always butt-naked, and the bruthas are more aggressive. LA comes off as too passive. However, Blackout is considered to be the best out here, in their view. We won't argue with that.

Last night, we had at least 3 bruthas from New York. One of them volunteered to take over Blackout. He would end all socializing near the bar, every party would be butt-naked, and a discretionary door would be strictly enforced. Damn, I don't know if LA can handle that.

The Blunt

The energy level was unusually high last night, particularly around the bar (maybe a little too lively). Our doorman doubled as DJ and provided a playlist that definitely fit the vibe. He even smoked a blunt inside Blackout. We usually don't allow that, but he was sexy as fuck. 

Special shout-out to the 43 bruthas who supported us last night. We are grateful. Another shout-out to the Black AIDS Institute for providing condoms and Astroglide to promote safe sex.

Keep Your Eye On the Doorman

Blackout returns this Friday, May 5th, 11pm-4am as the one and only party in Los Angeles exclusively for Black men.

A Private Blackout Social

The brutha working the door Friday will hand out 20 invitations to an intimate situation on Saturday, May 5th from 10pm to 4am. It will be at a private home near Baldwin Hills. Admission is free.

Random Thoughts: Last Night

It got hot.

Anytime you bring 62 bruthas into a situation like this, things will get "heated". The night started off with a few dudes near the bar in a heated discussion about the obstacles African-American face in society, especially in the workplace. But the heat really turned up in the rooms, including the notorious Dark Room. 

Our air conditioner just couldn't keep up with the body heat. We opened the windows and the front door to get some circulation going. Sweat was everywhere. The hardwood floor got slippery for those wearing socks, but that didn't stop bruthas from getting their dicks wet throughout the night.

Freaky and sexy and hot. A major "thank-you" to all the Black men who came out last night to support us. We really appreciate y'all making things run so smoothly.

SHOUT OUT

Blackout Social gives a special expression of gratitude to the Black AIDS Institute for kindly providing all of the condoms, lube, soft drinks, and water for Friday's event. 

DTF

The interest in DTF from our supporters (see previous post below) is WAY too strong for us to ignore. We're gonna meet with those dudes this week to think of a safe and secure way to test this out.

Boxers and Briefs Come Off

It's that time again.

Butt-nakedness tonight from 11pm - 4am. The only party in Los Angeles exclusively for the bruthas. You know what that means.

A few hot boys wanna make themselves available during the day for whatever needs a brutha may have. Admission would be $25. You would choose one of them to chill with in a room either privately or with another guest.

They want to rent our spot on a weekday from about 8am till 4pm. 

Let's call this DTF (Downtown Freaks, not Down To F*ck...lol).

UPDATE 1:

First, the response has been crazy. We had no idea people were looking for this kind of situation. Only 3 "no" votes. All the rest have been "yes".

Second, to answer a very popular question: There will be tops. (Are tops hard to find for some people?)

Uh...lol...so, if we had known 2 years ago that all we had to do is supply a few serious top bruthas for rent, I would have done that from jump...LOL. It's so much easier.

So, yeah, we're aware it would be risky to allow these boys to use the location for their "services" and it might bring unneeded attention to our low-key spot.

It's a shame because they're ready to serve and there as a lot (and I mean, a LOT) of interest in this based on the responses to our poll.

We don't wanna put Blackout in any bad situation, so I guess we should tell them no haps.
